When it comes to the Distribution of the annual bonus everyone is closest to themselves. This is part of the good manners and even if the company is loss-making, everyone has good reasons why their performance should still be targeted (up to the threat of leaving the company otherwise).
I've been struggling with existing goal and bonus systems for a long time, knowing full well that there is no holy way. But maybe some solutions are better than others?!
